We sought out to create a unique hospitality experience that merged the best of boutique hotels with the privacy and comfort of a vacation rental. With this vision in mind, we set out to craft a new kind of accommodation that would offer discerning guests the best of both worlds.
Field & Lake is a luxury design and hospitality company focused on creating curated vacation escapes across the Midwest and beyond. Our first two properties, the Asher and Fox House, are side-by-side lake houses nestled on private Lake Michigan shoreline in central Wisconsin.
We've thoughtfully designed our houses with guests in mind and filled each home with vintage rugs, original fine art, custom furnishings, and gourmet chefs kitchens rarely found in vacation rentals. In doing so, our mission is to make our vacation houses feel far more than just places to stay – they are refined and elevated homes away from home where family and friends can come together to reconnect, recharge, and create unforgettable memories.

Owner & Principal Designer
Field & Lake combines Sara’s passion for design and travel. Born and raised in New England, Sara was surrounded by creativity from a young age. Her family owned a two-generation-old fine art gallery and home store, where she spent much of her childhood helping and learning about the world of art, design, and customer service. Growing up in New England, Sara also developed a deep love for the natural beauty of the outdoors. These experiences instilled in her a desire to create vacation escapes that allow people to connect with nature and experience the beauty of the world in a meaningful way.
With a keen eye for design and a commitment to exceptional service, Sara has quickly grown Field & Lake into a premier boutique hospitality brand that has received numerous accolades for its bespoke homes and outstanding hospitality. Sara is involved in every aspect of the business and remains dedicated to creating unforgettable vacation experiences for her guests and to showcasing the beauty and diversity of each destination.
Sara lives outside of Chicago with her husband, Ben, and their three young children, Will, Max, and Alice – some of the earliest guests of Field & Lake!
